Messi joining Inter? But not the one you're thinking of...

It's been a couple of seasons since Lionel Messi lost his earlier pace and magic. Inevitably, he's reaching the playing career finale at PSG and is thinking of his future.

There were some rumours of his possible return to Barcelona, but as things stand, the Blaugrana idol is more likely to make a U-turn and move to Inter!? But not the one you're thinking of, the Italian giants and one of the most respected European sides for decades. The one Messi is apparently considering joining is from Miami - the Major League Soccer (MLS) side, whose co-owner, among the others, is former Manchester United and Three Lions legend David Beckham.

'Beckham and I will try to sign Messi'

As per Spanish journalist Alex Candal, the tiny magician will spend another season at Parc des Princes before moving to MLS.

"Messi is going to acquire 35% of the shares of Inter Miami, and in the summer of 2023, he will join the team," Candal announced on Directv Sports on Monday night.

Inter Miami are American professional football club based in the Miami metropolitan area. Founded in 2018, the club began to play in MLS in the 2020 season.

The team's current coach - only the second since the franchise establishment - is also a former Man Utd player and Beckham's teammate from back in the days, Phil Neville.

The most formidable name in the squad is definitely Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, 34. His presence at Inter Miami could attract Messi's attention and bring him to the MLS.
