Argentina booked their spot at the upcoming Olympic Games, and their boss, Javier Mascherano, has a dream...

They won the World Cup, Coppa America, and the Olympic Games together. It may be time for another quest for Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria in Paris, as Argentina have booked their spot in the global showpiece after defeating archrival Brazil in a tie-breaker 1-0.

Three players over the age of 23 are allowed to be part of the Olympic team, and it is widely believed that two will be Inter Miami and Benfica aces.

Especially since their boss is Messi's and Di Maria's former teammate, Javier Mascherano.

The Albiceleste coach told Argentine media he wants to call up his biggest stars for the 2024 Olympic tournament. Mascherano clearly expressed his ambition to include the two 2022 world champions in his team.

"We have a spectacular relationship with Messi and Di Maria, we are friends. As a coach, I have an obligation to invite them to the Olympic Games," said the former Barca and Liverpool player, before adding:

"But we understand that they have other commitments, and that will depend on them. They have the right to decide what they want.

Messi and Di Maria, who will be over 35 at the tournament, have already expressed interest in participating in the Olympics. Their presence would significantly strengthen the Argentina team, which is aiming to win its third Olympic title after 2004 and 2008.

Maybe it's time for the last tango in Paris.
