National Super League (NSL) side Mully Children Family Football Club have moved with speed to appoint their former coach Robert Arasa Orangi under the same capacity after they failed to reach an agreement with Benedict Wanjala Simiyu.

MCF FC were poised to hand over the club to the former APS Bomet gaffer, only for the youthful expert to extend his stay with FKF Division One outfit Administration Police who gave him an improved offer.

After a series of interviews and considerations, the club that was filled with uncertainty towards the end of 2022-2023 campaign have now narrowed down on the man who led them to the second tier, and given him the mandate to steer the club's wheel forward.

Impeccable sources close to the coach and the club revealed that the two were engaged in contractual talks, and a deal was struck on Wednesday evening marking Orangi’s return to the second tier after a two year absence.

“We have agreed to have him in the team as we believe he is capable of steering the club forward," opined a source at the club.

The former Ushuru FC assistant coach managed the Yatta based club between 2018 and 2021, guiding them from the fourth tier to the National Super League before he left, attributing it to personal reasons.

He takes over from outgoing coach David Mahira who has since joined ambitious division two outfit Royal Fresh FC, and will be tasked with returning MCF FC’s lost glory and making them competitive yet again.

Mully Children Family Football Club was formed in 2012 by Philanthropist Charles Mully for Mully Childrens’ Family as a home for the less privileged children in the society, aimed at developing talents as well as providing basic education.

MCF FC is part of various sporting disciplines aimed at developing talents at the children's home, among them Mully Choir and the renowned Mully Karate team.

The former Kangemi All Stars coach is scheduled to start team training sessions on Thursday and embark on a vigorous recruitment process aimed at identifying top talents ready to contest for FKF Premier League football next season after the team lost most of their players.

MCF FC will start the new season at home against SS Assad at Kenyatta Stadium.
