Xabi Alonso's crew barely brushed Olympiacos aside 4-3, as the Frenchman carried the entire team on his back, scoring all its goals, including a seven-minute hat-trick
Not even a victory over Barcelona could've ended Real Madrid's internal crisis, let alone the one against Olympiacos, the minnows in the Champions League, to be honest. And when that win is a hard-fought one, it's clear that things have yet to be resolved.
Either way, Los Blancos experienced one of Herculean tasks and emerged victorious from the "Greek hell" at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, beating the 2023/2024 UEFA Conference League winners 4-3.

To earn three points, the Madridistas needed Kylian Mbappe at his most lethal level, as the Frenchman netted all of his team's goals, including a first-half hat-trick, scored in the span of just six minutes and 42 seconds!
Mbappe's three goals between the 22nd and 29th minutes turned the tables after Olympiacos' initial lead brought by Chiquinho and secured a peaceful half-time break for the Spanish side.
However, the "back-and-forth punching" continued in the second period, as the Greeks reduced the gap seven minutes after the break, thanks to the ex-Inter Milan man Mehdi Taremi.
The France national team captain responded eight minutes later with his fourth goal of the night, while Olympiacos' ultimate hope came in the 81st minute when the Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi kept their dream of at least a draw alive.
Still, the home crew failed to make a decisive step and stun the favourites, as Madrid survived and climbed to the fifth spot in the Champions League table, leaving the Greeks in the 33rd position.
At the same time, Mbappe became only the second player of the 15-time UCL winners to find the net four times in a single game after Cristiano Ronaldo.
