Mbappe will sign for a club that will guarantee him a left-winger position

June transfer window is slowly approaching and the heat around Kylian Mbappe's next stop in his career is slowly starting to burn.

The French striker has a contract in Paris Saint-Germain until that window of 2022, and so far he has not accepted the offer to extend his stay in Paris. If he accepts it by then, PSG will be forced to sell him and take compensation so that a year later they wouldn't have to let him go for free.

In Paris, they do not hide that they want to keep Mbappe, but the young Frenchman, who hasn't yet made a final decision on where to continue his career, is wondering about a lot of things. Interested clubs, among which the most persistent are Real Madrid, are just waiting for Mbappe's green light to start transfer negotiations.

Until Mbappe decides, PSG still has hope.

Madrid's AS brings interesting news today, which will significantly influence Mbappe's choice. The Frenchman is explicit that he will only sign for a club where he will be guaranteed to play on the left-wing, and not as a center forward or right-winger.

The problem in Paris Saint-Germain is that the position nominally belongs to Neymar. However, the Brazilian missed a good part of the season due to frequent injuries, and it was in those matches that Mbappe played on the left side of the attack. As a left-winger, he scored eight goals this season, and it was in that position that he excelled in the recent match against Barcelona. However, when Neymar plays, then Mbappe has to move to the right-wing or to the position of the centre striker, which he likes the least, even though he scored 11 goals as a classic "nine". As a right-winger, he played in three matches and did not score. The solution for PSG could be to move Neymar inside to the position of a "ten" or even a "nine". He has already played it, but the question is whether he will accept such a position change.

David Alaba wants money, and a midfielder role

Mbappe's condition is also a problem for Real's plans. Madrid have the most expensive investment in the history - Eden Hazard - in that position. Due to a large number of injuries, he is almost always off the field, so Real does not benefit much from him, but the question is what will happen when and if he fully recovers. Especially since Real Madrid still has Vinicius Jr. and Marco Asensio in those positions, so Mbappe's arrival would mean a certain departure for one of them.

On the other hand, Liverpool, which is also interested in the Frenchman, plays exactly in a system that the Frenchman likes the most - Sadio Mane is in the position of left-winger, who has fallen out of form this season and his contract expires in 2023. He is only ninth in the team as far as the salary goes, there is no increase in pay or talks of continuation of collaboration yet, so Liverpool might decide to sell Mane and bring Mbappe to that position.
