The underdogs had a single point out of six games ahead of the clash with the Parisians but managed to clinch a goalless draw
OK, no one saw that coming. Paris Saint-Germain suffered an unexpected setback in their title quest, as they were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by the hands of Ligue 1 strugglers Clermont.
The reigning champions were in joint first place with Breast and Reims, while Clermont suffered not less than five losses in the opening six rounds. A 2-2 draw against Toulouse was the only point to their name, at least until Luis Enrique's outfit came to their little town.

Despite several up-and-coming chances in the second half, Kylian Mbappe and his crew were prevented from scoring by Clermont's die-hard defence. A low block that Clermont set up just beyond the edge of the box proved to be a too-challenging obstacle for Mbappe, Kolo Muani, Dembele and the others.
The pressure the Saints piled on the hosts seemed to be working, though, as we were approaching the final stage of the game. A perfect three-piece link-up between Kolo Muani, Mbappe and Goncalo Ramos looked like a breakthrough, but the latter stumbled at the vital moment.
👏 Bel esprit !

The same can be said for PSG defender Danilo Pereira, who went up high in the dying moments only to squander the last chance for what could have been a three-point-worth header.
