The man is not joking. PSG star Kylian Mbappe has decided to stick to his guns and go to the showdown with the French Football Federation (FFF), still refusing to participate in a photo shoot with the partners of the France national team.
This decision, though, could have only financial consequences for the player, but that's it. According to RMC Sport, confirmed by a lawyer specializing in sports law, Mbappe cannot be sanctioned from a disciplinary point of view. He does not risk any game suspension or other sporting sanction.
"The Mbappe clan knows very well what it is doing and the consequences which for it are quite minimal", this lawyer told RMC Sport.
"He knows he has the upper hand and can maintain the pressure by defending his values. In an extreme case, the player could also not be called up to the France team. A highly improbable scenario, which would be very difficult for the FFF to hold."

On the other hand, the French striker could be deprived of his image rights bonus, which is around 25,000 euros for each Les Blues' meeting. Mbappe had indeed signed an agreement when he arrived in the selection in 2017, which lists his obligations and involves the use of his image in a collective framework. By refusing to participate in the marketing operations of the France team, he is therefore failing in his commitments.
