The Slum Boys are yet to win a match this season

Mathare United picked their first point of the season as they held Posta Rangers to a one-all draw in a catch up match played at Kasarani Annex on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mailmen came into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat, while Mathare had lost 4-0 and both sides sought to bounce back from the losses.

Cavin Odongo scored for Posta Rangers with Chris Owino rescuing a point for Mathare with a well taken shot.

According to Rangers coach John Kamau, it was a case of two points rather than one gained considering the type of game they had.

"A draw for us is two points lost because it we had a good game but did not convert our chances more so in the second half, which I would say was our main undoing," Kamau said.

His opponent, Boniface Omondi was content that his strategy to hit Posta on the counterattack played to their favor, and they managed to rescue a point through that.

"It was a good game and had prepared well considering we had lost our initial three matches. Today we were focused on our defending and I believed we would get something out of the match. Our approach to hit them on the counterattack worked well for us," Omondi said.

The mail men opened the scoring with just six minutes left to play in the first half. Brian Marita made a good dash on the right side of attack with his cross causing a melee in the six-yard box that Cavin Odongo capitalized on to give his side the lead.

Before the goal, Odongo had another attempt three minutes earlier but Brian Olang'o stretched fully then to deny him.

Mathare went level shortly past the hour mark through Chris Owino. The midfield got hold of the ball on the left side of the attack, took two touches to set himself up, the thindered home past Brandon Obiero in the 65th minute to make it 1-1.

The goal was enough motivation factor for the Slum Boys who made a couple of forays going forward.

Patrick Otieno had the chance to restore Posta's lead, or even set up his teammate for it but his final shot cum through pass was feeble and went on into the hands of the goalkeeper.

Augustine Kuta could have made it 2-0 with seven minutes left on the clock in regular time from a freekick but his well taken setpiece was tipped off for a corner.

The final five minutes were intense as noth teams believed they could get the winner, and they both sought for it. An attack by Eliud Lokuwa saw Posta awarded a freekick just outside the box after he was brought down by Fidel Otieno but the resultant freekick taken by Simon Omondi was put away for a corner.

Vihiga Bullets 1-3 Posta Rangers

Wazito FC edged Vihiga Bullets FC 1-3 at the Bukhungu Stadium to record their first FKFPL win of the season.

Having gone three matches without a win; two losses and a draw, Wazito went into the tie under pressure to reverse the worrying trend. The visitors went up through Abubakar Eneji, but Vincent Ogolla leveled for a 1-1 draw at the first interval.

The coach Jeff Odongo side pressed further in the second stanza, managing to get two further goals through Hillary Juma and Cliff Oruko.

"I'm very happy, the team played very well and as a unit, and I'm glad we picked maximum points," Jeff Odongo told Mozzart Sport.

"We have been playing well in the matches we lost, we were very unlucky against Ulinzi Stars, going down through a penalty, but today we deserved to win. We feel very motivated moving forward. "

Vihiga, after a huge 4-2 win over floundering Nairobi City Stars over the weekend, felt hard done by referee calls, which they deemed were deliberately skewed against them.
