Matasi's wife and son set for operation

Matasi's son and wife will undergo surgery on Monday.
Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has disclosed that his wife and child will both undergo surgery on Monday.
Matasi and his family were involved in a road accident on 1st June in Lessos area along the Kapsabet-Nakuru highway. All the occupants of the vehicle got injured including Matasi who got a cut near his right eye in addition to other minor injuries.
His wife and son however were hit harder and they will have to undergo surgical procedures. Matasi has taken to social media to disclose that his wife will have a metal rod placed under her leg while the son will have a procedure on his shoulder.

Earlier the player had taken to social media to thank Kenyans for the support they had accorded him since the unfortunate incident occurred.
“Good morning friends. I would like to let you know that I'm extremely grateful for your great support since my family and I were involved in a road accident. Above all, I thank God for sparing our lives. I am doing well. My wife will be undergoing surgery on Monday, while my son isn't stable yet but is under the doctors' care. Thank you and may God bless you,” Matasi posted on Thursday morning.
Two days before the accident, Matasi had returned from Ethiopia after the conclusion of the season where his side, St. George FC finished third in the league. His stay at the club is however up in the air as his contract is set to expire at the end of the month.
