The two giants renew their football rivalry this Saturday at Kasarani Stadium
John "Bobby" Ogolla has warned Gor Mahia to expect a "dangerous" AFC Leopards in the 97th edition of the Mashemeji Derby this Saturday at Kasarani Stadium.
Bobby, a former defender and legend of K'Ogalo, is of the opinion that Ingwe, who are winless since the new Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season began five rounds ago, will out at their nemesis hammer and tongs.
"They are yet to win their first and that makes them very dangerous," the 64-year-old former international said.
Leopards have managed a dismal four draws and a loss in their previous league outing - putting their coach Tom Juma under immense pressure with a section of the fans calling for his sacking.
This thirst for that opening win that will break the jinx is another reason Bobby thinks Ingwe will be claws out on Saturday.
"Gor Mahia players must work extra hard. Everything will be at stake including the bragging rights," he said.
After a seven-year winless streak against Gor Mahia, Leopards picked a famous 2-1 victory in the second leg of the clash last season.
"They have that psychological advantage and Gor Mahia have to watch out, and win to restore their confidence and dominance in the fixture," Bobby said.
Bobby was impressed with the fighting spirit in the team after they fell behind in the early exchanges of their last game against KCB last weekend - rallying to pick a 1-1 draw.
"When you concede against a good side you must come out and fight like a lion, and that's what the team did," he added.
K'Ogalo is yet to win the Mashemeji Derby under Irish coach Johnathan McKinstry.
In the two matches he has overseen, K'Ogalo has managed a barren draw and 2-1 defeat.
To majority fans, beating Leopards is their birthright, and any coach who doesn't pull results in the clash, even if he wins the league, may not be considered as successful.
