Marseille get revenge for Cup elimination

Mason Greenwood was the only scored in a 1-0 win in Toulouse
If they could have chosen, perhaps they would have gladly sacrificed this victory in the 25th round of Ligue 1 for the one three days earlier, when they had the chance to reach the semi-finals of the Coupe de France and stay in contention for the only realistically attainable trophy. But Toulouse FC caught them off guard and eliminated them on penalties. The schedule dictated that the teams meet again just 72 hours later, and Olympique de Marseille showed that revenge can sometimes be served hot. They won thanks to a goal from Mason Greenwood in the 18th minute and, at least temporarily, moved up to third place in the table — 0–1 in Toulouse.
Still, had the result been different, it would not have been undeserved. Toulouse created several chances to equalize, especially late in the first half when Warren Kamanzi assisted Frank Magri Donnum, and then tried a shot himself from the edge of the penalty area that went narrowly wide. Then in the 53rd minute, Yann Gboho struck the crossbar. In the 86th minute, goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli had to make a save after an attempt by Thijs Dallinga Vignola.
The former European champions did not shine, but they took all three points home thanks to the perfect cooperation between Igor Paixao and Greenwood. Paixao made a run into open space and delivered a perfect cutback, while Greenwood calmly picked his spot and finished. And that is more or less all that will be remembered from a match filled with tension, yellow cards, and even some time-wasting by the visitors late on — far more than with pure footballing quality.
