Katana joined the club from Kenyan fourth-tier side Eastleigh Youth at the start of the month

Kenyan midfielder Mohamed Katana alias Messi Agege finally made his debut for Vasalunds as Erick Marcelo Ouma pocketed a clean sheet in the barren draw against Mjallby.

The 21-year-old made his debut for Vasalund eight days after making the switch from Kenyan lower league side Eastleigh Youth, coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Sundsvall in the Swedish second tier.

Vasalund suffered a nightmare start to the game as Robert Lundstrom opened the scoring for Sundsvall after just five minutes of play as they went into the halftime break leading 1-0.

Katana came on with 18 minutes left on the clock as he replaced Brazilian midfielder Lucas De Paula Vasconcelos Fagotti with Vasalund aiming to salvage something in the game.

Vasalund levelled proceedings in the 87th minute through Japanese defender Takuto Yasuoka who headed the ball in from an Elias Durmaz corner. Just when Vasalund thought they had grabbed a point into the game, Linus Hallenius netted in the fourth minute of stoppage time to ensure Sundsvall walked home with three points.

Kenyan forward Anthony Wambani clocked 90 minutes in the game as he has played 18 games this season scoring three goals.

Kenyan international Erick Marcelo Ouma lasted the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Mjallby in the Swedish top tier league.

His Kenyan compatriot Henry Meja was not named in the matchday squad as he recently joined the side from Kenyan champions Tusker FC.

The result denied AIK the chance to move to the top of the Allsvenskan standings as they are now level on points with Djurgarden who are top by virtue of a superior goal difference.
