Defending champions Ulinzi Starlets will take on Division One side Soccer Sisters

As the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Cup enters the round of 16, varsity side Zetech Sparks play Thika Queens at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday 15 April.

Coach Bernard Kitolo says his squad is motivated to make it to the top eight and beyond and as they look to lift silverware this season, with the league out of reach.

“We are looking for a win but we are well aware it will not be an easy match. We have played with the side severally and the matches are normally explosive so we expect the same intensity in the cup,” Kitolo said.

Six of the eight matches are set for Saturday with the other two scheduled for Sunday.

Defending champions Ulinzi Starlets take on Soccer Sisters in their quest for last eight place. On paper, the military side have an edge over the Division One opponent and are buoyed by the hunger to defend the title.

“We are taking it one match at a time. We will not go ahead of ourselves and claim to be going for a title defense when we have not finished the knockout matches,” Ulinzi head coach Joseph Mwanza said in an earlier interview.
