Mane and Sane don't do the job for Bayern - maybe it's time for Kane

Many on and off the pitch disputes and feuds, with little or zero output, especially in the last couple of weeks and in the UCL clash against City, demonstrate Munich's forwards are not living up to expectations

Despite all criticism going to Dayot Upamecano for his several errors that cost Bayern Munich much more than just conceded goal or two against Manchester City, the Bavarians' UCL exit revealed another massive flaw of this side - the futile forward line relying on Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane.

And although the pair seemed like a match made in heaven following the Senegalase's arrival from Anfield, the duo have gone a long way from there, only in a totally wrong direction. Their misunderstandings turned into feuds and, later, an open fight outside the pitch. It accelerated with the Man City tie in the Champions League, during which the Germans scored a single goal (while conceding four in a two-leg tie), through Kimmich's penalty.

Moreover, the altercations between Sane and Mane attracted the attention of journos at the Etihad and the Allianz Arena, as they captured various moments during which they collided on the pitch. Sane's postgame tears while meeting his former coach Pep Guardiola added some more sauce to the whole thing, kickstarting the rumours about his possible Munich exit.

With or without Sane in the squad, the Bavarians will definitely look for some reinforcement in the attacking line, and some sources say the main target will be another player with "ane" in his surname. Only this time, after S(ane) and M(ane), it's time for K(ane).

Tottenham star and legend Harry Kane is probably the missing puzzle, especially after Robert Lewandowski's departure from the club, which left the Munich side without a genuine striker of Lewa's ilk. Of course, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is a very experienced player, versatile too, but it looks like the Bavarians need some more goal-addicted men in their offensive set.

Kane, who missed out on a bumper move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021, has been heavily linked with Manchester United, as well as Real Madrid and Bayern. He will turn 30 in July and could seek a move if Spurs miss out on Champions League qualification.
