Reigning South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns got their title defence back on track with a 2-0 win over Chippa United as Brian Mandela clocked 90 minutes in the game.

This was his first three consecutive 90 minutes for over a year as he started in the 4-0 thumping of Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup and the 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants in the last league clash.

Chippa United were handed a blow in the 24th minute when Siphesihle Mkhize was sent for an early shower for a foot footed tackle on Thabiso Kutumela.

Sundowns made their man advantage count two minutes before the halftime break when Andile Jali fired the ball into the back of the net after Chippa United failed to clear their lines on several attempts.

The record South African champions got the insurance goal with two minutes left on the clock when Teboho Mokoena hit a worldie from outside the box that flew into the top corner.

Sundowns now hold a 17 point lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates and return back to winning ways after two games.

Johanna Omolo

Kenyan international Johanna Omolo was an unused sub by Kocaelispor as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Boluspor in the Turkish second tier.

It only took 17 minutes for Emin Bayram to open the scoring for Boluspor with Rasheed Ibrahim Akanbi levelling the scores for Kocaelispor in the 42nd minute.

Tugay Kacar bagged the match-winner for Boluspor in the 54th minute as Kocaelispor suffered their fourth consecutive defeat of the season.
