He wants to leave North London, and Guardiola wants him at City – but Spurs want to play hardball
England fans are worried because their leading goalscorer Harry Kane isn't producing the Euro 2020 tournament. However, he is still considered one of the country's best players – and champions Manchester City are determined to secure his signature before the start of next season.
The Citizens have lodged an official offer of $140 million for Tottenham Hotspur's top scorer. City's transfer record is less than $90 million, but they are willing to shatter that in pursuit of Kane, who Pep Guardiola has identified as his primary target. Tottenham's chairman, Daniel Levy, is nonetheless determined to keep Kane, who has three years remaining on his contract.

City are open to including players in addition to the cash offer, but Tottenham are expected to reject the bid. Kane is valued at upwards of $170 million, and Tottenham keen to keep him despite the England captain believing he has a gentleman's agreement with Levy that he'd be allowed to leave if an acceptable offer arrives.
Kane has already hinted a month ago that City would be his preferred destination, naming Kevin De Bruyne as the Premier League player he would most like to link up with.
"Some of the balls I see him put in for City are just a striker's dream."
Kane has spent his whole senior career at Spurs without winning a trophy and is pushing for a move to fulfil his ambitions. However, keeping their star striker is just another of Tottenham's problems. They are still without a manager after talks with candidates including Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, and Gennaro Gattuso failed to yield a breakthrough.
The England captain is said to be entirely focused on the Euros, with a decision on his club future not expected before the conclusion of the tournament. But the wheels are long since put in motion. Where will Kane play next season?
