He’s only just arrived, yet the Cameroonian is already starting to set certain things in motion within the club

Bryan Mbeumo has reportedly been 'trying to persuade' his Cameroon teammate Carlos Baleba to join him at Manchester United.

Despite only recently arriving at Old Trafford in a 71 million pounds move from Brentford, Mbeumo is already looking to help the club bolster its ranks, according to The Sun.

The report claims that Mbeumo views Brighton’s 21-year-old midfield star as a 'little brother' and has been using the international break to pitch the idea of a move to Manchester.

United had Baleba on their radar during the summer window, but Brighton were demanding over 100 million euros and refused to budge. The Red Devils, currently sitting 10th in the league table and under mounting pressure with Ruben Amorim at the helm, face a daunting trip to Anfield next.

Should Brighton eventually decide to sell, it would mark yet another masterstroke in their transfer dealings. Baleba was brought in from Lille for just 23 million pounds to replace Moises Caicedo — whose departure to Chelsea yielded a 73 million pounds profit — and has since seen his value soar after an impressive season.

That said, the young midfielder has endured a somewhat bumpy start to the current campaign, with manager Fabian Hurzeler admitting that the speculation surrounding United’s interest might have affected his focus.
