Hugo Vianna will become the new director of football at Etihad
Three potential candidates were shortlisted by Manchester City's boardroom for the role of the director of football after Txiki Begeristain's departure.
This Friday, it seems, the search is definitely over as the Cityzens' have apparently agreed on a deal with the current Sporting Lisbon director, Hugo Viana.
According to The Athletic, Viana's arrival at City could be announced as early as next week.
The former Newcastle and Portugal midfielder has held this role in Lisbon since 2018 and has proved himself to be a serious expert in the transfer market, with Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte and Pedro Porro among those to leave for significantly higher fees than they were purchased for. Viktor Gyokeres, Ousmane Diomande and Morten Hjulmand are among those who star in the current team.
