Malian striker sufferes a severe injury that could destroy Stuttgart's season

El Bilal Toure will undergo surgery on an injury picked up on international duty

VfB Stuttgart have announced that their Malian striker El Bilal Toure will be sidelined for at least several months due to a severe injury he recently picked up on international duty.

Toure will have to undergoe a surgery since he fractured the metatarsal in his foot. As the injury needs surgery, the striker will miss several months.

Stuttgart will face off Bochum today as they return to Bundesliga action. With Deniz Undav also absent due to injury, Stuttgart will have to rely on Fabian Rieder and Nick Woltemade to step up in the upcoming games ahead of short break in the German championship around the Christmas and the New Year's Eve.

The 23-year-old Malian striker started his professional career at Reims before moving to Almeria in 2022. After a successful season in La Liga, he joined Atalanta, and after another Serie A season, he was loaned to Stuttgart.
