Title contenders Kakamega Homeboyz will host Ingwe in Kakamega on Sunday afternoon
AFC Leopards striker John Makwata anticipates a tough outing when his side travels to Kakamega to take on Kakamega Homeboyz at the Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday 29th May in a crunch FKF Premier League clash.
The match has a lot at stake. A win for the hosts will push them closer to their first-ever league title while a triumph for Ingwe will blow the title race with Tusker FC and Bandari FC in the title race mix.
The two teams have had mixed fortunes this campaign. This has arguably been Homeboyz’s best season in their history while for Ingwe, they managed to shake the early season struggles and look like a formidable outfit once again. The team plays some eye-catching football under coach Patrick Aussems.

All eyes are now on the Sunday game with Tusker and Bandari hoping that Ingwe can do them some favor. Ingwe’s talisman, Makwata does not expect an easy game in Kakamega. He understands what’s at stake for the hosts but insists that they are not there to do the Bernard Mwalala coached outfit any favor as they have targets to achieve this season.
“We expect a tough encounter because Homeboyz are chasing the title. They are in a good position on the table and we expect them to fight. But we head there in search of maximum points, we are not going to hand them the title, we have our targets as a team and we are going to give a good account of ourselves as I said earlier, this will not be an easy game for either side,” he stated.
After the Bukhungu clash, Ingwe will shift focus to Wednesday's Madaraka Day encounter against archrivals AFC Leopards at the Nyayo National Stadium.
