The legendary right-back became the 25th Premier League HoF inductee and the first "chosen one" among the 15 nominees for the current year

Fifteen Premier League legends entered the race for the two spots in the Premier League Hall of Fame. However, as of Saturday, 14 nominees are eyeing the one remaining place, as the first 2025 inductee has been chosen. It's Gary Neville!

The legendary right-back thus became the 25th member of the elite group of former players and managers, joining eight of his ex-Man United teammates (Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, and Andy Cole) and, of course, the iconic Red Devils' manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Neville was a member of United's renowned 1992 generation. He spent his entire 19-year career at Old Trafford and made 600 appearances, which put him in fifth place on the club's all-time appearance-makers list, right behind Ryan Giggs, Sir Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, and Bill Foulkes.

He was the Red Devils' captain between 2005 and his retirement in 2011, and won 21 trophies, including eight Premier Leagues and two Champions Leagues. He made 85 appearances for England, with which he participated in three European Championships and two FIFA World Cups.

After hanging up the boots, Neville had a brief managerial career as Roy Hodgson's assistant manager on the Three Lions bench and the Spanish Valencia manager, where he lasted less than four months. He is currently a pundit for Sky and ITV.

The name of the other 2025 Hall of Fame inductee should be revealed soon, and the 14 remaining candidates are: Sol Campbell, Michael Carrick, Jermain Defoe, Patrice Evra, Cesc Fabregas, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Eden Hazard, Michael Owen, Teddy Sheringham, Yaya Toure, David Silva, Edwin van der Sar, and Nemanja Vidic.
