St Mirren posted a tough start to the game as they conceded a penalty three minutes after the half hour mark which was expertly converted by Graham Carey.

Ayunga’s side however pulled one back three minutes before the half time break with Greg Kiltie notching his first league goal of the season.

St Johnstone were reduced to 10 men in the 63rd minute when Alex Mitchell was handed his marching orders as Ayunga was introduced in the 75th minute for Alex Greive.

With the numerical advantage, St Mirren took the lead for the first time in the game when Mark O'Hara put the ball in the back of the net with Kiltie registering the assist.

Just when St Mirren thought they were headed for three crucial points up stepped Nicholas Clark who netted in the 96th minute to snatch a point for St Johnstone.

Joseph Okumu

The former Chemelil Sugar defender featured as KAA Gent got their Belgian Cup title defense off to a perfect start with a 5-0 drabbing of Dessel.

Hyun-Seok Hong grabbed a 20-minute brace with his two goals sandwiched in between Cederick Van Daele’s goal in the seventh minute.

Gent went into the half time break with a healthy 4-0 lead after Laurent Depoitre netted in the 24th minute with Okumu being introduced at the start of the second half for Michael Ngadeu.

Andrew Hjulsager drilled the final nail in Gent’s coffin in the 49th minute to ensure they advanced to the Round of 16 in emphatic style.

Linton Maina

The Kenyan midfielder was handed a start as FC Koln suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

Benno Schmitz broke the deadlock for FC Koln at the stroke of the half hour mark as they went into the half time break with the 1-0 lead.

Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen returned into the second half a different beast as they drew level in the 65th minute through Nadiem Amiri.

Rocked by the equalizer, Koln shipped in the second six minutes later through Moussa Diaby as Maina was rested for Steffen Tigges immediately after with Leverkusen holding on to the win till the final whistle.
