Magpies, brace yourselves: He was relegated from EPL thrice, and now he'll join your ranks

Ex-Arsenal custodian Aaron Ramsdale is on the verge of joining Newcastle after Man City "stole" them James Trafford

Between 2021 and 2025, Aaron Ramsdale was relegated three times from the Premier League - with Bournemouth, Sheffield United, and Southampton.

However, his last season's relegation with the Saints won't get him out of England's top tier, as he is reportedly on the verge of joining Newcastle!

The Magpies have been experiencing an absolutely abysmal transfer window, as Liverpool are trying to steal Alexander Isak after already stealing Hugo Ekitike, who has primarily been Newcastle's target.

At the same time, they wanted to enhance their ranks between the posts and give some competition to injury-prone Nick Pope, Odysseas Vlachodimos, and 36-year-old Martin Dubravka.

Their first choice was Burnley's James Trafford. Yet, Man City's child opted to return to Etihad Stadium, so the management at St. James' Park had to react quickly, and they turned to Ramsdale.

At the same time, according to the media in England, this move will trigger a "butterfly effect" and cause a "keeper carousel."

Namely, either Pope or Dubravka is a candidate to replace Ramsdale at Southampton, while Man City's reserve custodian, Stefan Ortega, could take Trafford's place at Burnley.

Either way, it seems that no one will steal Newcastle's target this time, though the Magpies should beware of the "curse" Ramsdale brings with him.

Jokes aside, he'll be a decent reinforcement for the club's EPL and UCL campaigns, so they can now focus on finding a genuine striker. The latest information claims that Newcastle and Man United are at war for Benjamin Sesko's signature.
