Aaron Ramsdale has already gone down to the EFL Championship while at Bournemouth and Sheffield United. Now it happens with Southampton again

You know the old phrase 'third-time charm'. Alas, it works differently in the case of Aaron Ramsdale. After yesterday's 3-1 loss of his Southampton to Tottenham Hotspur, Ramsdale has officially faced his third Premier League relegation.

The Saints broke the record for the earliest relegation in EPL history, but it's even worse for the former Arsenal custodian. The 26-year-old Ramsdale has just gone down to the EFL Championship for the third time with three clubs.

Firstly, he suffered relegation with Bournemouth in 2020 before joining Sheffield United the following season, but his tenure with the Blades ended in the same fashion.

Ramsdale went to Arsenal in 2021, and his luck changed at that moment. However, after the arrival of David Raya, he decided to move to Southampton, which eventually resulted in another relegation.

Still, Ramsdale is not among the players who have faced the most EPL relegations since the league was established in 1992.

Most EPL relegations:

1. Hermann Hreidarsson 5

2. Nathan Blake 5

3. Rob Green 4

4. Sebastian Bassong 4

5. Nigel Quashie 4

6. Marcus Bent 4

7. Marc Edworthy 4
