Uruguay will get a profilic goalscorer for the game with Argentina

Luis Suarez is playing great in the Gremio jersey. In 29 league games, he scored 14 goals and collected 10 assists, and thanks mainly to his great displays, his team is still in the championship race. Especially because of the recent hat trick against Botafogo, when he made a turnover from 1:3 to 4:3.

All this has prompted Marcelo Bielsa to reactivate the experienced striker, nicknamed ‘El Pistolero’ (The Gunman) for the national team and call him up for the big derby with Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers on Friday, as well as the duel with Bolivia five days later. The experienced striker has not played for the national team since the World Cup in Qatar, but although he will soon turn 37 years old, he is playing in great shape, and Bielsa believes that he can contribute against the current world champions. Especially since Edinson Cavani will not be on the field, who was not invited due to injury.

Stopper Jose Maria Jimenez, is also returning. He hasn’t played since the World Cup, but due to a four-game suspension given to him after a stormy protest at the referee after the match. The big derby will be played in Buenos Aires, and the guests will try to end Argentina's winning streak, which has been going on for almost a year since the match with Mexico in the second round of the World Cup (2:0).

The experienced tactician, nicknamed ‘El Loco Bielsa’ (Madman Bielsa) spoke about the upcoming game with the world champions, but also about Lionel Messi.

"If we don't try to compete and think only about defending our goal, that will be the road to defeat. There is no formula for how to stop Messi. We should eventually ask him if at some point it would be convenient for him not to play so well. But the fact that there is no clear way to stop such a player makes football alive" said Bielsa.
