Posta Rangers Midfielder Jackson Macharia has offered perspective on what it took for him to settle down with the mailmen after spending over seven years with Tusker FC before joining Posta Rangers about a year ago.

Prior to his move to Posta Rangers, Macharia was the longest serving member of Tusker FC's playing unit, having joined them from defunct Thika United in 2016.

During this time he won two FKF Premier League titles, a Mozzart Bet Cup among other accolades that came his way. He was such an influential and instrumental member of that squad that when he left, the club referred to him as a legend of the club when they made the communication about his departure.

After completing a season with Posta Rangers, Mozzart Sport caught up with him and he talked about the adjustment that he had to make

“It has not been easy but it was not meant to be either way. Tusker has its own pressure to deal with. Equally, Posta Rangers has its own pressure but given the experience that I have and the fact that I dealt with many coaches at Tusker, it was not as bad though it had its own challenges.” said Macharia

He went in further to offer the secret that he used to help him settle in his new team and meeting different faces in the the dressing room

“I was prepared mentally for the challenge that I was going to face or that would have come to my attention. When one is mentally prepared, the rest of the things just flow.” he added

Away from football, Macharia is a farmer. The former Tusker FC was a former for a long time but ventured heavily into commercial farming at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and that is where he spends most of his time when he is not on the pitch. We asked him how that side of his world is fairing.

“Farming is not that good currently but I thank God for whatever I have got. However, it is not a worse state either, I am still there. That is a side hustle that I must continue with. I currently do rotation because I realized you can't plant one crop to break even.” concluded Macharia
