KCB are winless in the last five games, a run that has dented their title hopes

Despite currently enduring a slump, KCB FC forward Sydney Lokale believes the Bankers are still in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title race.

Last season's league runners up have a wretched recent run of form, winning one of their last nine games with the results seeing them drop to sixth on the log.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Lokale reiterated that KCB are still in the title race with 13 games left until the end of the season and hope that they can capitalize when Homeboyz drop points.

“We are still in the title race because if you look at the gap number two and three have left us with is not that much because we have a number of games left. We still have a game against Kakamega Homeboyz, I hope that where they will slip we will step up but I insist that we are still in the title race,” said Lokale.

The Bankers are 13 points behind log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz who are showing little signs of slowing down after their victory over Vihiga Bullets on Wednesday.

Lokale admitted that the 1-1 draw against Kenya Police FC was disappointing and pegged the two dropped points on their profligacy.

“It is not what we hoped for his was our game but this is football, it ended in a draw and we are thankful for the one point we got in the match. We deserved three points though they beat us 1-0 in the first half we still had chances but we just failed to utilize them but composed ourselves and returned strongly in the second half,” added Lokale.
