Kenya Police coach Zdravko Logarusic believes the battle for the league title this season will come down to the usual teams
Kenya Police coach Zdravko Logarusic believes the battle for the league title this season will come down to the usual teams.
Logarusic speaking after his side picked three points in a 3-1 win over Nzoia Sugar says the likes of Tusker, KCB, Kenya Police, Bandari, and Gor Mahia still remain front runners for the title.
“The new teams have already shown their best and have nothing else left to show. However, if they can do better than what they have already done then that would be a positive thing for the league,” he said.
He pointed out that teams that have good depth will find it easier to compete this season given the competitiveness of the league.
“Like I have always said this is a very competitive league where anybody can beat anybody. It is a marathon and the team that has a good depth in the bench will have an advantage considering that we have a lot of matches ahead.”
Despite his side beating Nzoia 3-1 on Sunday, Logarusic praised their opponents for their organization but pointed out that they lacked the individual talent to propel them.
“Not so for us, we have plenty of individuals who can turn around the match for us. Against Nzoia Sugar, Tito Okello was our man of the match with individual brilliance.
“We have made a great turnaround because the players know what I need from them and they understand that none of them is special. Everyone has been working hard and we hope to keep it that way.”
Logarusic said he has introduced a rotation strategy in his team in order to preserve his best players for the marathon of matches ahead and is seeing the fruits of it.
