A Europa League trophy, FA Cup, League Cup... Not many players can boast of such a biography, and even less that they have defended the colors of Manchester United for more than two decades, both in junior teams and at senior level.
However, that is the past of Jesse Lingard, the present is such that he has not had a club since the summer when he parted ways with Nottingham Forest, and his future is in South Korea.
The UK media wrote that the 31-year-old football player is now on the threshold of moving to the Seoul football club, with which he verbally agreed to a two-year contract with the option to extend the cooperation for an additional season.
Lingard, who parted ways with United after a very good adventure at West Ham in which he scored nine goals in 16 games in the Premier League, was so disappointed in English football at Nottingham Forest that he insisted on going abroad.
He had offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, in the end he decided on South Korea, because it seemed the most exotic to him. Although the question is how many options he had. When Al Ettifaq called, the deal did not go thorugh due to unexplained circumstances. Unexplained to the public. Lingard himself dismissed them in early January by firing the entire agent team, which at the time was made up of family members.
No wonder. Lingard may have been one of those young Englishmen that the UK media, without too many grounds, 'raised to the heavens', but he is far from a football ignoramus. He had great moments during his career and certainly had no reason to sit idly for so long without engagement.

The family's inability to find him a new club eventually resulted in a legal separation, and Lingard spent January training with Al Ettifaq, led from the bench by the legendary Steven Gerrard. And even though Jesse was on a strict diet and preparation regimen, he had to put up with taunts from time to time. Paul Scholes, the legend of United, just recently wrote to him, a little in jest, a little in truth, on an Instagram photo from the gym:
"Are you just gonna f*** about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?".
Lingard played his last game for Forest back in April.
