In their search for a new striker, the Catalan club’s leaders have turned their focus to the Juventus star
Barcelona’s transfer radar is buzzing again, and a familiar heavyweight name has climbed to the top of the discussion: Dusan Vlahovic.
According to Marca, the Catalan club has already taken a first concrete step by tabling an opening offer for the Juventus striker. It’s a move that raises eyebrows, given Barca’s ongoing financial tightrope walk. After all, Vlahovic arrived in Turin from Fiorentina in 2022 for a fee north of 80 million euros, one of the biggest deals Serie A has ever seen.

His contract with Juventus runs until June 2026, but that timeline could work in Barcelona’s favor. The idea at Camp Nou is clear: either wait it out and try to land the Serbian for free in the summer, or capitalize now with a cut-price winter deal. Juventus, for their part, have so far failed to tie Vlahovic down to a new contract, and the striker is said to be open to a change of scenery.
Barcelona’s long-term concern is obvious. Robert Lewandowski’s future remains unresolved, and there is no active plan to extend the Pole’s contract. While new coach Hansi Flick continues to trust Ferran Torres, president Joan Laporta is keen on securing a genuine elite No. 9 should Lewandowski depart. Within the club, Vlahovic is viewed as a standout candidate, largely because the market offers very few affordable strikers of his caliber.
That said, a move to La Liga would almost certainly come with a financial compromise, as Vlahovic would need to accept a reduced salary compared to his current Juventus deal.
On the sporting side, the Serbian hasn’t had the smoothest season. He has managed three goals in Serie A and three in the Champions League, and a lingering adductor injury has kept him out for around a month, with a return expected only in early 2026.

Even so, his name remains very much in play — and as the winter window approaches, Vlahovic is shaping up to be one of Barcelona’s most intriguing transfer targets.
