Leroy Sane's anger issues

A year after an assault on Austrian Philipp Mwene during Germany's international friendly match, Bayern's winger is facing a new suspension for another reckless misconduct

Leroy Sane's entire career, but especially his spell at Bayern Munich, has been full of ups and downs, mostly due to his occasional injuries, which kept him off the pitch pretty often, preventing him from finding rhythm. However, sometimes it was solely his fault.

Last year, in November, during Germany's friendly match against Austria, he physically assaulted the rivals' Philipp Mwene, earning a three-match suspension. And as if he had not learned his lesson, Sane lost his temper once more, and in arguably the greatest derby of German football - in Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund.

Namely, after a duel in BVB's box, the winger, quite obviously and undoubtedly on purpose, elbowed the home team's Pascal Gross, and only thanks to the former Brighton player's calm reaction - which is rare in today's football - did he avoid a red card. Knowing today's players and their tendency towards exaggeration, Sane would have already been serving a suspension had he hit someone else.

Yet, according to Bild, regardless of the ref Sven Jablonski's oversight, the German Football Association's (DFB) control committee has launched an investigation regarding the 28-year-old's misconduct, and a new ban is almost certainly expecting him.

Sane missed almost the entire second half of the previous season due to various injury issues, making only four appearances from March till the end of the campaign. And when it seemed that he had finally found his peace in Munich under Vincent Kompany, he made yet another blunder that could cost him dearly.
