After the initial jeers in the first few matchdays, the Colombian clears the air with the fans

How to go from enemy to ally in a matter of days? Juan Cuadrado knows how! The former Juventus player was greeted with animosity from Inter fans when he made the switch from Turin to Milan. Still, he's been accepted by the black-and-blue fanbase thanks to influential captain Lautaro Martinez.

Peace has been made in the name of Inter. After all, prolonging the bad vibes didn't make sense because of the past. The "rehabilitation" of Cuadrado within the Nerazzurri world met a turning point last week with the long-awaited meeting between the experienced Colombian and representatives of the Inter ultras. The signing of the South American wingback caught many Inter fans off guard and pushed the hardcore supporters of the North Curve into a state of frenzy.

It's no mystery why Cuadrado had become one of the number one enemies of the Nerazzurri audience over the years. He was involved in several incidents during the Derby d'Italia when the Colombian wore Juventus' black-and-white.

His Juventus past, along with accusations of being a diver, prompted the Inter ultras to seek a confrontation with the player to clarify their position. On the day of the official announcement of his signing, Inter fans had gathered outside the club's headquarters to protest against Cuadrado's acquisition. By the end of the evening, a compromise had been reached: to organize a meeting between the parties to lay all the cards on the table and clear the air.

And, after the jeers in the first two home matches of the season, Cuadrado will have his chant and the support of the Inter fans from the Milan derby onward, just like all his other teammates. The credit goes to captain Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine was a part of the conversations with the fans. He was the crucial link in the chain that reduced the tensions and brought the relationship to a human level.

All that's left for the veteran Colombian is to prepare for the Derby della Madonnina. Perform well against rivals AC Milan, and there will be no limit to Inter's fans' affection.
