Zoo FC head coach Herman Iswekha has claimed that his side is still in pre-season following their 2-0 loss against Sofapaka.
Zoo FC head coach Herman Iswekha has bemoaned the ill preparations to the season following the 2-0 loss over Sofapaka on Wednesday 10 February.
The alarm bells are ringing for Zoo FC as they are anchored to the foot of the table and are without a win this season after eight matches.
Speaking after the Sofapaka loss, Iswekha noted that the club is still in pre-season after starting the season late following their suspension for failing to sign the league’s broadcast deal.
“I can say we are still in pre-season because we did not have good preparations and now we have to pay the price because the games are coming thick and fast. On top of not having a proper pre-season, we did not have friendlies but we are heading for a break which will come in handy because we have had back to back fixtures,” said Iswekha.
Zoo failed to register for the FKF Cup which takes center stage this weekend and will be handed respite as their next league clash comes 10 days later.
Iswekha is hopeful the team will pick up points in their next clash against beleaguered Nairobi City Stars.
The tactician is turning to the transfer window to salvage their season as he aims to bolster his squad with experienced players.
“We have a problem in defense - we have conceded goals early on in the game, even in the home clash against Bidco we conceded two goals early on. The transfer window is still open, we will look for areas where we need to strengthen and recruit two or three players to boost our strength. We cannot only use the youth we - need to mix it up with some experience,” added Iswekha.
Zoo also have an attacking deficiency having netted just four goals all season and are seven points from safely having only picked up two points.
