Last week's trashing was fine, but Chelsea ought to repeat the same in tonight's head-to-head UCL clash

The Blues are levelled with AC Milan on the table, but only one of them can advance to the next round

That shock therapy summoned in Thomas Tuchel's sudden exit after a horrible loss at Dinamo Zagreb probably stunned the whole wide world, let alone the Blues' fanbase. However, it was the only possible move for the Chelsea boardroom.

That was the way to react and awaken the team that was slowly yet painfully declining. From that point on, with a new manager Graham Potter in the dugout, Chelsea began its resurrection. But to make it complete, the Premier League greats ought to advance to the next UCL round.

To do so, they have to win a double over AC Milan after battering them last week at Stamford Bridge. With that 3-0 victory, they moved into second place in Group E, level on points with third-placed Milan, while Red Bull Salzburg top the log.

It is such a tight group at this stage, with just two points separating Dinamo Zagreb in fourth from Salzburg at the summit.

Milan have not progressed to the knockout round of the Champions League since 2013-14, but they have won this competition on seven occasions, which makes them the second-most successful team in the history of the tournament behind Real Madrid, who lifted their 14th trophy last term.
