Slovenian side Mura, founded in 2012, tops Spurs in the UEFA Europa Conference League tie 2-1 thanks to a stoppage-time winner
The city of Murska Sobota in northeastern Slovenia is more than ten times less populated than the north-London area of Tottenham (11,000 in comparison to 130,000). Their local club NK Mura was founded in 2012, while Tottenham Hotspur have a 139 years-long history.
But tonight, those facts were irrelevant when the two sides met in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The Slovenian underdogs won the game 2-1 thanks to a stoppage-time winner, and it is one of the major upsets in the recent history of European football.
The host broke the deadlock after only 11 minutes and were one up for almost two-thirds of the game. Antonio Conte confronted the opponents with plenty of youngsters and some guys who weren't given many minutes in the previous games. Heung-Min Son, Hojberg, Dier, Moura stayed on the bench, while Harry Kane was the only formidable name in the lineup.
You can hire Antonio Conte all you want but Tottenham will always find a way to go full Tottenham. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/Iz5NqEW8PZ

That sort of attitude proved to be profoundly wrong for the Italian boss, who subsequently tried to organize a comeback, bringin in those regular startes. But even with Son, Dier, Hojbjerg and Kane on the pitch, the finish itself proved to be such an anticlimax for the visitors.
Though, it was Kane who levelled the score half an hour before the clock. At that moment, it seemed like Spurs will bounce back totally and win the game after coming from behind. However, the Slovenians were not amused at all and fired the last gasp attempt seconds before the end. Marosha's shot was exquisite, and Mura pulled off a fantastic victory.

On the other hand, Conte and Spurs will face public humiliation in the following days because a loss to a nine-year-old club can be labelled only as a disgrace.
