Gabriel Martinelli also scored a goal for the Gunners
Another landmark achieved for Arsenal. It sounds unbelievable, but The Gunners 3-0 victory over Sheffield United was their first ever Premier League win in Bramall Lane. The last time Arsenal won in Sheffield was way before the Premier League was formed – in 1933.
Since they surprised and defeated Manchester United, no team is at easy while playing with almost relegated Sheffield, but tonight, they it was more about the Gunners: will they be the sloppy Arsenal or will they be a proper Arsenal. Luckily for the fans, Arteta’s men played a good game, never leaving any doubt weather they will win or not.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was out with flu, along with Martin Odegaard, David Luiz and Kieran Tierney, who were already injured, so Arteta decided to promote Gabriel Martinelli to the starting 11. Granit Xhaka was playing on the left, while Bukayo Saka started in the middle. Arsenal soon took over control and the pressure on Sheffiled was growing by the minute. The Gunners were „camping“ on the Sheffield’s side of the pitch, and Martinelli had a first good chance of the match, but could only hit the side net. Soon enough, Arsenal turned domination into a goal. Saka spotted Dani Ceballos first-time and the Spaniard brilliantly flicked it through into the path of Lacazette who was precise: 1-0.
Arsenal continued with pressure, but it was actually guests who nearly equalized one minute before the break. Egan took a shot after the corner, but his volley went straight at Leno.
The same story happened in the second half, as Sheffield were really in no position to threaten the Gunners. Still, knowing the Arsenal’s instability over the season, nobody was calm until Martinelli scored the second goal of the game, and left no dilemma about the winner of this match. Lacazette confirmed the victory with his second goal in the 85th minute.
Arsenal can now start to prepare for the second leg of the Europa League in Prague, where they must win in order to advance, while Sheffield will continue to prepare for a season in the Championship.
