Kuol will become a free agent after Kariobangi Sharks final game of the season against Sofapaka on Sunday.

South Sudan international John Kuol is set to terminate his contract with Kariobangi Sharks once the 2020-2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) comes to a close after talks of a new deal broke down.

The two parties have agreed to mutually terminate the contract which was set to expire at the end of 2022 as the lanky defender explores his possible options ahead of the new season.

One of Kuol’s representatives revealed to Mozzart Sport, that the defender has terminated his contract with the 2018 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup champions.

“Koul opted to terminate his contract at Sharks after he failed to agree on a new deal with the club as they could not agree on certain clauses in the new contract,”

“After three years at Sharks, Kuol also feels like he is ready for a new challenge either within the country or abroad,” said Kuol’s representative who sought anonymity.

The defender has been on the periphery at the tail end of the season as he has been handed limited playing time by head coach William Muluya.

Kuol joined Sharks from the now-defunct Chemelil Sugar back in 2018 and has been in and out of the squad but looked set to finally nail down a regular starting position in the first half of the season.

The centre back belongs to the Sepuya Inc Agency that has a number of Ugandans and South Sudanese internationals including their skipper Peter Maker who recently sealed a move to Zambian champions Zesco United.
