KSSSA: Highway and Ebwali through to football semis

Highway and Ebwali maintained their 100% record at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national games to punch a ticket to the semi finals of the competition in the games played at the Nakuru Boys High School on Friday 9 September.

Nyanza region champions Kisumu Day High School who booked their slot in the national games after beating Agoro Sare High School 2-0 in the final got their campaign up to the perfect start after coming from behind to Serani High School who were representing the Coast region.

Highway High School who earned a slot in the Nationals after appealing the 1-0 loss to Waylight High School in the Nairobi region games for fielding an ineligible player showed that they more than deserved the slot after annihilating Bute High School 6-0.

Ebwali High School, representing Western region also posted an emphatic start to the National Games after beating Mbooni High School 6-0 who were flying the flag of Eastern region.

Rift Valley giant killers Kabarnet High School who stunned reigning national champions St. Anthony's Boys Kitale picked up a 1-0 loss to Central champions Olbolsat High School.

Kabarnet however redeemed themselves following the loss after claiming a well deserved 2-0 win over Kisumu Day who failed to turn up in the game.

Olobolsat could not maintain their 100% start to Day 1 after suffering a 1-0 loss at the hands of Serani who recovered from their loss to Kabarnet in the opening game.

Highway School midfielder eager to join Talanta

The most impressive school in Day 1, Ebwali picked up from where they left from after their 1-6 thumping of Mbooni Boys High School by inflicting another heavy defeat this time to Bute High School who also bid farewell to the games after soaking up 13 goals.

Highway also punched a ticket last four of the Nationals after a 3-0 win over Mbooni who also suffered elimination from the tournament.
