Kisumu Day had lodged an appeal against Agoro Sare for allegedly fielding an ineligible player
Kisumu County representatives at the Nyanza regional soccer games Kisumu Day hopes of gracing the National School games were dealt a blow on Thursday afternoon after their appeal aganist Agore Sare was thrown out on technicality.
In a repeat of last year's finals, Homabay representatives Agoro had eliminated Kisumu on post match penalities getting a chance to represent Nyanza at the coveted national competitions.
Under the tutelage of Booker Odhiambo, Kisumu challenged Sare win for fielding an ineligible player, who as per the appeal had featured for Dagoretti High that participated in last year's games while in form three, thus a repeater. The player had also initially turned out for Usenge Boys. However, during the hearing it was noted that Usenge never released the player from their NEMIS database and therefore Dagoretti was using the student illegally rendering Kisumu argument void.
Coach Booker Odhiambo was however, quick to move on from the case accepting the verdict.
"Good afternoon. KD has lost appeal against Agoro sare on technicality. The Ministry is saying that Usenge never released the student from their Nemis and therefore Dagoretti was using the student illegally. I have accepted the verdict, down but not yet out. There is a plan B. Have a good day." He posted.
