Former Zoo striker says he is not under pressure to deliver goals at City Stars
After making his Nairobi City Stars debut on Saturday, Nicholas Kipkirui says he was justified to ditch the struggling Gor Mahia for the Kawangware based club.
Kipkirui controversially joined City Stars on Thursday and made his bow during their 2-2 draw against Tusker at the Utalii grounds where he came in the second half for Rodgers Okumu.

The forward said the dire financial straits at Gor which has seen players stage go slow from time to time necessitated his exit.
Kipkirui who was said to have been locked out due to accumulated rent arrears ended up joining the league returnees outside the transfer window after invoking the Fifa transfer regulation which allows a player to terminate his contract outside the window if his employer fails to deliver on his mandate.
He said the advice from his agent also played a crucial role in convincing him to take the City Stars offer ahead of the rest.
Ulinzi Stars and KCB were rumored to be interested in his services.
"It was the right decision for me. There were a basketful of offers but my agent advised me to sign for City Stars. With due respect to my immediate former employer, the strain was too much. It becomes difficult for a player living from hand to mouth to give his best and the challenges engineered my move." he disclosed.
Despite causing troubles to the Tusker defence in his debut, Kipkirui was unimpressed with his performance but vowed to step up in training. He however says he is not under pressure to score his first City Stars goal.
"I did not play well in my first match but I promise that I will work harder to give our fans something to smile about. I am not under pressure to deliver for i know scoring chances will come and I will convert them," he said.
Meanwhile, the former Zoo Kericho man says he has no hard feeling towards Gor whom he thanked for giving him continental exposure.
"I am happy with what I achieved at Gor and I leave them with no hard feelings at all," he added
