Kipkirui moved to Nairobi City Stars in March
Nairobi City Stars forward Nicholas Kipkirui is elated after opening his goals record with Nairobi City Stars as they bundled out Ulinzi Stars out of the FKF Cup at Ruaraka Grounds.
Kipkirui had earlier admitted that he was under pressure to score at his new club after leaving Gor Mahia on the Bosman rule, adding that once he scored his first goal he would resume his free-scoring style.
With the first goal to his name at City Stars, Kipkirui is now happy and is set to continue scoring like he was doing before.
"I am proud with that goal.when you score your first goal it boosts your morale and gives you more confidence. I am very happy that I have scored my first goal for City Stars" Kipkirui told Mozzart Sport.

Before that, the former Gor Mahia player had struggled to get on the scoresheet and is yet to do so in the league now that he has started getting playing time.
Kipkirui is upbeat that Simba wa Nairobi have all it takes to beat Bidco United, whom he has termed as a tough side, when the two teams meet in the quarter final next week.
"I expect that we will have good results against Bidco in the quarter-final. I know they are not an easy side but we are also equal to the task," the forward said

The former Zoo Kericho man finished by saying that they understand well that the FKF Cup is a knockout competition and thus will continue working towards winning their matches to continue progressing to the level.
"We understand the nature of this competition. We know very well that this is a knockout competition and once you lose you go home. So we are doing our best to give our best performance and proceed to the next level," he added.
