Odhoji was only limited to an appearance on the bench as Onyango missed the matchday squad.
Kenyan internationals plying their trade in Tanzania and Zambia did not get any playing time under their belts when Simba and Napsa Stars had league encounters to contend with on Saturday evening.
Although goalkeeper Shabaan Odhoji was named in the matchday squad, the former Gor Mahia player was only limited to the substitute's bench. Here is a wrap of how the teams played.
Joash Onyango
The Harambee Stars defender was not part of the matchday squad that staged a comeback to defeat Namungo 1-3 in a match played at Uwanja wa Majaliwa.
It is the home team that were quickly off the blocks as Styve Nzagamasabo gave them the opening goal of the game in the 21st minute, a lead they would dearly hang onto until the halfway interval.
Namungo kept that 1-0 advantage until it all came crumbling down in the final twelve minutes of the game as Simba came alive with three quick goals.
Chris Mugalu found the equalizer in the 78th minute for Simba. That goal gave way to a second that was converted by captain John Bocco just six minutes later. Wekundu wa Msimbazi were not done just yet. Bernard Morrison completed the comeback with a third goal just three minutes to time to ensure Simba overcame the scare and traveled back home with the three points.
With the win, Simba opened a three-point gap at the top of the league standings where they now sit on 64 points.
Shabaan Odhoji
The former Gor man was only limited to an appearance on the bench as his relegation-threatened Napsa Stars succumbed to a fourth consecutive loss after a 2-0 defeat against Zanaco.
Two second-half goals from Moses Phiri and Rodgers Kola did enough damage for Zanaco who maintained a tight grip in second place as Napsa continued wading dangerously in 16th place on the log.
