Bidco United forward has completed a move to Libyan side Asswehly SC

Kenyan international Pistone Mutamba has joined Libyan side Asswehly SC from Bidco United with details on the length of the contract still scanty.

Reports indicated that the lanky forward quietly jetted out of the country on Sunday to Libya to finalize his move to Asswehly.

Mutamba is yet to be unveiled officially by the club but a photo from Libyan media houses reveal that the deal is done and dusted as he posed with the jersey of the club.

He joined Bidco at the start of the 2020-2021 season after being axed by Wazito as the money bags overhauled their team, a process that saw a mass exodus of players.

The former Wazito FC talisman was conspicuously missing from Bidco’s matchday squads against his former employers and their recent match against Kakamega Homeboyz.

Bidco have performed poorly without the services of Mutamba upfront as they failed to score in the defeat to Homeboyz and the loss against Wazito.

The Kakamega High School alumnus also had a stint at Sofapaka in the 2018-2019 season but rejoined Wazito for the 2019-2020 season.

Mutamba had one goal to his name in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League after scoring in the 2-2 draw against Kariobangi Sharks.

Nicknamed the Red Knights, Asswehly plays their home matches at the Misurata Stadium with the club being formed back in 1944.

Asswehly’s highest-ever finish in the Libyan Premier League is 4th, back in 2003, and the club once finished runners-up to the Libyan Cup back in 2000, earning them qualification to the 2000 Arab Cup Winners Cup.

Bidco will now rely on the services of Steven Waruru, Erick Gichimu, David Orem and Nelson Chieta who is the club top scorer of the club this season with two goals.
