Kenyan international angling for Turkish Women Premier League title after turning pro

Nasaka joined Hakkarigucu Spor on a one year deal

Harambee Starlets defender Vivian Nasaka Makokha is having her eyes fixed on winning the championship after joining Turkish Women Premier League side, Hakkarigucu Spor.

She joined the team from the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) reigning champions Vihiga Queens and was part of the team that won the CECAFA Club Championship title that saw the team feature in the inaugural CAF Women Champions League.

Speaking after her unveiling, Makokha expressed her delight at her pro deal, heaping praises on her teammates and coaches.

"Our team is very strong. It has very good players. I am very happy to be here. I believe in my team, my coach, and my teammates. I hope we will have a very good time and we will be champions. Hakkari is a beautiful city that has friendly people. Everyone was very welcoming," she said as quoted on Nation Sport.

The Kenyan penned a one-year deal with the team that is also home to another Kenyan international in striker Mwanahalima Adam.

The 19-year-old played for Kenya during the 2019 Cecafa Women's Championships and in 2020 during the Turkish Women's Cup, a tournament graced by Hungary, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Romania, Uzbekistan, Northern Ireland, Turkmenistan, and Chile.

The multiple-league winner was named in Kenya Footballers Welfare Association KEFWA team of the year for the 2021 campaign.
