Alushula limped off in the second half against Kakamega Homeboyz at Utalii Grounds

FKF Premier League side, Kariobangi Sharks have confirmed that young defender Fredrick Alushula will be out of action for the next two weeks after he picked an injury on his debut against Kakamega Homeboyz on Friday.

The former Kakamega High School player who joined Sharks at the start of the season made an impressive debut on Friday. He stepped in for injured Daniel Sakari and he did not look fazed at all as he ensured that his team did not feel the absence of the Kenyan international. He was sound both defensively and in attack where he caused Homeboyz defenders problems.

According to a statement from the club, the Kenya U20 defender, who was replaced in the closing stages of the closely fought game tore his hamstring.

INJURY UPDATE Frederick Alushula who limped off in the 81st minute of the Homeboyz match suffered a grade 1 hamstring injury which will see him out of action for two weeks,” read the brief statement posted by Sharks on social media.

The two-week absence means that the youngster will sit out of Saturday’s game against Ulinzi Stars in Narok. He will also miss the match against Nairobi City Stars at home. He will however be available for the FA Cup match against Tandaza FC on the 2nd of June.

The player had earlier expressed his delight at finally featuring in a top-flight game.

"It was a great feeling to make my league debut although it was tough considering that I came up against two tricksters and I was filling Sakari's shoes. The coach told me to concentrate on their movements and do the things I do in training,” he told Mozzart Sport.

He is a full Kenya U20 international and last year, he was part of the national team that featured in the Cecafa U20 Championship in Tanzania.
