Junior Stars, who are among 10 teams that have confirmed their participation in the tournament, have been paired alongside last edition’s second-runners up Somalia, hosts Ethiopia, South Sudan and Rwanda, for a place at the continental championships set for next year in Morocco.
As per the fixture list shared during the live draw conducted on Friday, 31 October at the FUFA TV studios in Kampala, Kenya will kick off its campaign against Somalia - who finished third last year after beating South Sudan on penalties - before coming up against Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia respectively.
The detailed fixture list of the 15 November - 2 December competition at the Abebe Bikila Stadium and Dire Dawa Stadium, however, will be communicated later.

“We are happy that once again we have a platform created by CAF for the youngsters to play International Football at Zonal level,” CECAFA Head of Marketing and Communication Andrew Jackson Oryada said after the draw. “The best teams qualify for the African level, and final the FIFA U-17 World Cup.”
In last year’s edition, Kenya endured a disappointing campaign in the qualifiers held in Uganda, after losing both group matches to Uganda and Tanzania to exit early.
The hosts - Uganda - would end up winning the championships, thanks to a 2-1 win over Tanzania, and will be flying the region’s flag high when they take part in next month’s FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025 in Qatar.
The defending champions will this year headline a tough Group B, which also has Tanzania, Djibouti, Sudan and Burundi.
The best two teams from each group will qualify for the semi final stage, leading up to the finals and playoffs knockouts.
