Police are competing in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) courtesy of their maiden league triumph while Naibois are featuring in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC).
$700,000 (approximately Ksh90.3 million) awaits the Law Enforcers while Naibois will make $400,000 (approximately Ksh51.6 million) if they both qualify to the group stage of their respective CAF Interclub tournaments.
To earn the millions, Police will face Sudan giants Al Hilal Omdurman in the second leg of the second preliminary round on Friday, 24 October, at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya a week after Etienne Ndayiragije's men suffered a 1-0 loss at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Naibois, on the other hand, will face Tunisian side Etoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS) on Sunday, 26 October, holding a 2-0 advantage from their home victory on Sunday, 19 October, at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Both Police and Nairobi United qualified to the second preliminary round of their competitions after overcoming Mogadishu City Club and NEC FC respectively in the first preliminary round.
Should the two clubs qualify to the group stages, a minimum of Ksh141.9 million will be pumped into Kenyan football by CAF.
The amount could even get better as a quarter final place in the CAFCL would earn Police $900,000 (approximately Ksh116.1 million) with a semi final place earning them $1.2 million (approximately Ksh154.8 million).
A place in the final would attract $2 million (approximately Ksh258 million) while bagging the title would make Police $4 million (approximately Ksh516 million richer).
For Naibois, they will walk home with $550,000 (approximately Ksh71 million) if they reach the quarter finals while $750,000 (approximately Ksh96.8 million) awaits them if they reach the semis final.
A place in the final will make the Nicholas Muyoti-coached side $1 million (approximately Ksh129 million) richer, while a winners medal will earn them $2 million (approximately Ksh258 million).
