KENFOCA's statement comes after several FKFPL coaches were sacked and Mwalala's recent incident in Muhoroni where he was roughed up
The Kenya National Coaches Association (KENFOCA) has strongly voiced their deep-seated concerns regarding the treatment of their esteemed members within the Kenyan football fraternity.
This association, acting as the official representative for coaches across Kenya, has cast a spotlight on an array of pressing issues faced by their members, including unjust treatment by football clubs, physical altercations with fans, arbitrary dismissals, and vicious hooligan attacks.
KENFOCA's Secretary General, John Njogu Kamande, was the bearer of this poignant message via an official statement, shedding light on the formidable challenges endured by coaches across the nation.
The concerns outlined by KENFOCA can be summarized as follows:
Unfair Treatment by Clubs
KENFOCA has raised a resounding alarm concerning the unjust treatment of their members by football clubs. A fervent appeal has been made to clubs, imploring them to uphold the contracts duly signed with coaches and to accord them the respect they unquestionably merit.
Fan Violence Towards Coaches: The association expressed their dismay at instances where coaches have faced physical assaults at the hands of unruly fans. This unacceptable behavior not only endangers the security of coaches but also tarnishes the esteemed reputation of Kenyan football.
Unjustified Dismissal of Coaches
KENFOCA highlighted the alarming issue of coaches being abruptly and unceremoniously sacked by clubs. They have called upon the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to rigorously enforce proper procedures for the dismissal of coaches in strict adherence to FIFA regulations.
Hooligan Attacks on CoachesThe association has vehemently condemned the disgraceful attacks on coaches perpetrated by hooligans. Such incidents not only place the safety of coaches in peril but also disrupt the seamless operation of football matches.
In response to these pressing concerns, KENFOCA has put forward several resolute demands:
Call for Respect of Coach Contracts
Football clubs are urged, in no uncertain terms, to uphold the integrity of the contracts they enter into with coaches and to ensure that coaches are accorded due fairness and professionalism.
Emphasis on Respect for Coaches
KENFOCA underscored that every coach is entitled to unwavering respect from clubs, FKF officials, fans, and all other stakeholders engaged in Kenyan football.
FKF Must Take Decisive Measures
The association has made an impassioned plea for the FKF to take robust action against clubs and their fan base involved in instances of physical aggression, hooliganism, and mistreatment of coaches. This call extends to the strict enforcement of penalties and disciplinary measures.
Enforcement of FIFA Regulations
KENFOCA has placed unwavering emphasis on the necessity for the FKF to diligently uphold FIFA laws and regulations, guaranteeing that coaches receive their full dues when their contracts are terminated without due procedure.
