KCB unhappy with constant FKF PL breaks

The FKF Cup will not be held this season but the league continues to take a break in the weekends initially allocated to the cup competition.

The two-week break granted to local leagues has left KCB assistant coach Godfrey Oduor unimpressed with it noting that it works against their bid to gain momentum in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL ).

The Bankers have endured a torrid run of form by their lofty recent standards, having won only a single game in the last six outings, a run which has seen them lose some ground in the title race.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Oduor revealed that he is not a huge fan of the league breaks as it takes a hit on their momentum but they will need to find a way around it.

“The problem is that we are playing and having breaks often, that takes back our momentum I just wish that the matches were played consistently now that there is not FKF Cup.

We really do not understand why there are stoppages in between but we will try to see how best we can have our players motivated for the next match,” said Oduor.

KCB sit fourth on the log with 31 points from 18 games and could plummet to fifth on the log should Gor Mahia be awarded three points for the game against Vihiga Bullets that was halted with K’Ogalo leading 1-0 due to crowd trouble.

Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno’s side has struggled for goals failing to find the back of the net in the last two games but their rearguard has been solid keeping two clean sheets in the process.

KCB next face a daunting task when they travel to face Ulinzi Stars on Saturday 26 February.
