Odhiambo is set to resume training after overcoming a knee injury

Rugged KCB centre half Moses Odhiambo is scheduled to resume training next week after recovering from a minor knee injury.

Odhiambo was ruled out for two weeks after suffering a right knee knock while in training, a development which left coach Zedekiah Otieno with one fully fit central defender.

KCB who sit at the top of the log with 36 points have been hit hard by injuries in the department as Bethwel Warambo and Rama Mwenda are still nursing injuries.

The absence of the three central defenders saw Otieno temporarily convert Thomas Harun, a natural defensive midfielder to partner with Nahashon Alembi at the heart of the defence.

Initially, Odhiambo's injury was thought to be worse but a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan allayed the fears of a long term injury.

"The doctor has cleared me to return to training from next week. He told me my right knee muscles had a slight problem as detected by the scan. I have since recovered and looking forward to join the rest next week," he said.

Odhiambo who joined the bankers in July 2019 from Kisumu All Stars revealed his intentions of capitalizing on the injury crisis in the central defence and prove a point to the technical bench.

Odhiambo who played a crucial role to All Stars promotion to the top flight in 2019 has found the going tough at the senior level as he has played a paltry four matches for the bankers.

"I hope I will get playing time this time round. I am only praying that the bench will give me the chance to show what I can offer to the team," he added.
